Home Things Past is an extension of our site at Old & Interesting. Here we’ll be talking about all sorts of domestic things from the past few centuries: from tea caddies to baskets to cradles. There’ll be pictures and a chance to discuss and comment on the material bits and pieces of home life in the past. Many of those things are now considered antiques or vintage collectibles.
There’ll be a wider range of topics: less focus on household chores, and more about traditional crafts and antiques from all kinds of homes.
You’ll get a rough idea of what we’ll be covering from the categories listed in the right-hand column.
We respect your privacy. Here is a formal explanation of our position.
We do not collect any personal information from visitors to this website.
Broad trends are tracked for us by the Google Analytics service. This gives information about things like:
- most frequently read pages
- numbers of visitors per day
- browsers used to access this website.
It does not identify individuals.
Google Adsense may use a DoubleClick “DART” cookie to serve ads specific to you and your interests (so-called “interest based targeting”). In this case the ads shown may be based on your previous browsing history. (For example, if you have been viewing sites about visiting London, you may see London hotel advertisements when viewing a non-related site, like a site about furniture.) DART uses “non personally identifiable information”. It does not track any personal information about you, such as your name, email address, physical address, telephone number, social security numbers, bank account numbers or credit card numbers. You can opt out of this kind of “interest-based” ad serving on all sites using it by visiting this page.
Articles at Home Things Past often include carefully-chosen links to help our readers access further information. We don’t know if or how any of the sites we link to track their visitors, and we cannot be liable for what happens on other websites.
